There are lots of ways to get involved for both students and adults. Learn about some of the options below.

Student Clubs

The purpose of the EPSD Beekeeping Club is to learn about honey bees, their colony, the hive, and their role on our planet. Students will dress in full veils so that they may experience what it means to be a real beekeeper. Activities include but are not limited to: maintaining our indoor and outdoor hives, helping to raise money for our program with a biannual Honey Fundraiser, educating peers in our district, & learning about pollinator plants that help our honey bees thrive.

Bobcats on the Run

Combining three areas: mental wellness, physical wellness and volunteering.

Grades: 2nd - 5th

Gamers Unplugged Club

Garden Club

The purpose of The EPES Garden Club is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening both indoors and outdoors. Gardeners learn to sow seeds, tend gardens, and harvest fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Activities include but are not limited to: giving classrooms seed starting kits each Spring, maintaining the Pollinator Garden at EPES, tending 3 plots in the EV Community Garden, maintaining hydroponics in EP schools, & maintaining plots in the HS CTE Greenhouse.

Robotics

Collaborate with a team of your peers to create, program (code) and drive robots in the annual VEX IQ competitions.

Grades: 4th - 5th

Meeting Dates & Times: Tuesdays, 3:20-4:30 Club runs Sept-April (end date depends on team performance to qualify for State/Worlds). Students must commit to the entire year of being in the club. Some Saturday competitions in Jan-March - students have to commit to being there on those Saturdays. Space is limited.

Enrollment: Applications will go out at the end of August - Start early Septemeber *Space is limited. Applications must be completed by interested student.

Estes Park Education Foundation

The Estes Park Education Foundation (EPEF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that will work to inspire community investment through exemplary student learning experiences today to develop our citizens tomorrow. With the support of our community and a high quality education, all Estes Park school District R-3 students will graduate as thriving, successful, responsible citizens. (Mission and Vision Statements).

The Estes Park Education Foundation provides supplemental funds for innovative educational ideas, which otherwise may not be supported due to lack of state funding (Estes Park School District is currently ranked 108 out of 178 in Colorado for per-pupil funding) and/or other constraints for the district, including more flexibility in acquiring and dispensing funds. Funds raised by and for the Foundation enhance the school district revenues provided by taxpayers, state aid, and other public funding sources. Additionally, the EPEF generates community involvement and highlights the many accomplishments of the Estes Park School District and its students.

Whether it's reading with students, helping with homework, supervising at lunch or recess, or something that's more behind-the-scenes, we could use your help. And even if the perfect fit isn't listed for you, we welcome your life experience. Just scroll down and tell us in your own words what you might be able to help us with!

Volunteering can take many forms as well. Whether you can help on a regular basis, as needed, or even just a one-time thing, you are appreciated!

Here are the steps for joining our team:

Step One: Complete the Volunteer Interest Form

Step Two: Begin watching our Volunteer Training Videos. Each video is self-paced and will require you to sign in with your name, view, and respond to questions. If you get interrupted, sign in again, and the video should start where you left off.

Step Three: Watch your email for correspondence from one of our Volunteer Coordinators: Toni Brese, Elementary School, Rachelle Ruiz, Secondary Schools or our District Coordinator.

In some circumstances, fingerprinting will be required as part of the application process. The district will cover the cost and can be completed at the YMCA. The Volunteer Coordinator will reach out with more details about fingerprinting, if needed.

Step Five: Receive placement in a school/classroom and schedule your first day.
