Estes Park School District R-3 Bus side view

Providing safe, convenient, timely transportation to the students attending our schools, serving riders from the Estes Valley, Glen Haven, Pinewood Springs, and Allenspark areasEPSD buses travel 300 miles, safely delivering approximately 300 students to and from school each day. In addition, four buses are used during field trips. The district transportation department also maintains a fleet of smaller vehicles for transporting small groups of students and faculty. These vehicles include three 14-passenger buses and five SUVs.

Drivers

All of our drivers have Class B Commercial Driver's Licenses and meet the minimum qualifications required to operate a school bus in the State of Colorado. These requirements include P, S, and 2 license endorsements, First Aid Certificates, DOT physical requirements, and Colorado Department of Education required annual tests and training.

Small vehicle drivers have First Aid/CPR certification and have passed a driving test and completed CDE-approved testing.

Bus Attendance

Driving students safely to and from school is our No. 1 priority. Since student supervision and discipline is difficult while driving, it is critical that each student behaves on the bus. Each bus has cameras on board to assist students and their driver, as well as parents, teachers, and administrators. Each student will be issued a SMART tag™ID.

Join Our Team

We are always looking for bus drivers and bus driver subs. We provide all training necessary to become a bus driver. We look for people who desire a flexible schedule, enjoy interacting with students, attending events, etc. If a driver works full time, they receive full benefits from the district. All drivers (even part-time) qualify for benefits such as discounted membership to the community center.
